From the core of Historic Peninsula throughout the coast of unique Golden Horn, EAT Project is Istanbul's and yet Turkey's first ‘catenary-free' tramline, generated from embedded ground power supply system. The line is operated with the energy it gets from catenary free continuous traction power transmission system that is used for the first time in Turkey. Having 25.000 passengers/hour capacity in one direction; a double-track route of 10 km will pass through 14 stations. There are the following integration points at the opening of the first stage Cibali-Alibeyköy Station.
The line is designed in a way to not to harm the historical texture and not to damage any historical structure, since the line is located parallel to the route of the Historic Peninsula and the coastline. The stations at the entire line are suitable for the operation of low-floor tram vehicles and their entrances are built with ramps in technical conditions that are suitable for the access of people with disabilities.
